Description

The Weeping Willow is an ornamental tree.  It is easily recognized by its open crown of ground-swinging branches.  Its leaves are light green and pointy.  They turn yellow in the fall before dropping.  The fruit is ½’ brown capsule.

The Willow can reach 30-40 feet in height with a spread of 35 feet. They live, on average, for about 30 years.  It grows well near water and needs soil that is quite moist.  This tree should be grown in full sun.  Since they love the water, they should not be planted near sewer, waterlines, or septic tanks, as they will naturally grow towards them and potentially break them.
